We are currently taking appointments for home visits to prepare Power of Attorneys and Wills. We do however restrict these visits to those who really need them and cannot physically attend our office.
Having a Power of Attorney lets you plan what you want another person to do for you in the future, should you become incapable of making decisions about your own affairs. Power of Attorney is a written document which includes a certificate signed either by a solicitor who is registered to practise law in Scotland or by a practising member of the Faculty of Advocates or by a registered UK medical doctor who holds a licence to practise. We will draft the documents for you and register them with the Office if Public Guardian.
We prepare Power of Attorneys on a fixed fee of £250 plus VAT plus outlays. (See schedule of fees - additional charge for hospital/home visits).
The Office of Public Guardian register powers of attorney that are to begin or continue in the event of incapacity and supervise those individuals who have been appointed to manage the financial and property affairs of adults who lack the capacity to do so for themselves.
